Where can in go in my town to buy running shorts?

I like the short shorts kind (because they don't get in the way and don't flop around too much). Track shorts I guess.

I wear a woman's size 7.5, if I buy an equivalent size in a children's model,will it not have the same support

I think of all the different brands new balance seems to be good,try a store that sells NB,footlocker or finish-line or new balance on line/ from a runner.
