holy crap dude, I really hope you had an orthpedic specialist look at it! Just that in itself would be cause for an emergency MRI. Please take care of yourself and treat it like this not only as a short sitted injury ( just for now) but take it from me long term effects later in life sucks just trying to do simple stuff ( planting plants, picking up a new born baby and trying to stand up,etc.)I have had a floating cartileage in my right knee since I was 25 and a few years ago finally settled. The SOB would pop out of nowwhere and cause misery on end and then be gone some time later. Check this out carefully please!
Please let me know what happens.
I'm running Bloomsday and moving up to the green group from Orange.?
Yeah jumper's knee doesn't go away that quickly. It could take up to 3 weeks to completely go away if you rest it enough, longer if you keep aggravating it by training. If you can still run and jump, you might have to suck it up and bear it, as it is your championship meet, but otherwise, there isn't much you can do about it. The coach will probably have you ice it to relieve some of the inflammation, but nothing will "cure" it in that short of a time.
You are develping a condition that I have where the end of the bone right under the knee gets an abnormal growth. Too much pounding when growing. Bet you it is on your take off leg too. Not shin splnts as that is far lower on the leg. Ice and rest . Too late for that now right So Ice and limited practice then take an off season! Bikes and swimming to cut the impact damage on the growing bone. Period!
Kids with a rapid growth spurt are most vulnerable.

Can't tape it or relieve it. Just back off. I know you will compete so practice only enough to stay eligible.
