L'M RUNNING THE MILE TOMORROW!!?
I'm running the school mile tomorrow morning at around 8:15 and I was wondering how I can improve my time of 7 minutes and 55 seconds. I know that's not very good but I've been running a mile every night for about a month and I've improved my time from 8 20 to 7 55. I wanna get around 7 30 but I don't have anymore time to practice. Any tips on how to get a better time??

Pace yourself. Know what time you have to get each lap and go for it. Don't start out too fast like most kids.It is good that you are training yourself.
Drink lots of water before this mile run. Start right NOW! Do not, however, drink like a gallon in one sitting. Just sip periodically. You should be getting 8 cups of water atleast a day. On the day of the run, do NOT drink a lot of water within an hour before running. Just a little bit is fine. Good luck!

I ran track in high school, and ran the 1-mile event. One thing that I always made sure is that I did not eat a lot before the event. I found that if I ate much more than an apple or granola bar, I usually felt like I had a weight in my stomach, which made it that much harder to run.I'd also echo a previous answer. Pace yourself for each lap. Try to pace your breathing with the pace of your feet. (I usually took two steps with each breath.) When you get toward the end of the last lap, give it all you've got left!
