Motivation Help?

it depends on how good of a runner you want to be. You'll improve by just training hard, but what you eat is important also, esp. the day before a race. I used to run and wasn't too serious about being the best, but just to have fun. I would train hard during practices and after, but I wouldn't give up on the chips and crap. But I always made sure before a race not to eat crap because it would just be painful to run with that junk in your system.

What happened to Jordan Hasay at National Cross Country Championship?

To become a better runner, you have to keep training every day (allow one rest day every 7 days or so..) And cutting the junk food will really help your performance. You'll be able to train harder in practice, and do WAY better in races. After a little while of carbo-loading and staying away from greasy, sugary processed foods, you stop missing them- seriously!

Speed in mph?

Yes. It also really depends on how balanced your diet is. If eating junk food everyday to you means that you eat sugar, candy and baked goods every time you eat, then yes you are decreasing your chances of becoming a better runner. The occasional brownie or cookie is not so bad. Exercise and sugar do not mix. Sugar will increase your energy, but only for a brief time, eventually you will crash and your workouts will seem to become harder and you will not be able to last as long. So work on balancing your diet it will help I promise.

Any one has an idea about New Balance 735??

The junk food won't help. It depends on what your goals are. If you like the junk food more than you want to improve, then keep eating the junk. It all depends on what your priorities are.

Muscular and fast?

Yes, too much junk food will hurt your chances of becoming a better runner. You can break the cycle. Your body becomes accustomed to what you put in it and craves more of it. To start, cut back on, but do not cut out altogether, your consumption of junk food. You'll eventually crave it less. If you want to become a better runner, the single best thing that you can do is train more. After that, if you are truly looking to optimize your performance, there are other things that you can do - nutrition, strength training, stretching, mental techniques, shoe & attire choice, racing strategy.

What do you think?

If you want to be a better runner, than yes, it will hurt your chances. It won't ruin, depending on your training. It will help to stay off the junk food if you really want to meet your goal. To help get that sugar hive a bit without over doing it I've found that gatorade mixed with water works very well. Good luck!!

Marathon question?

if you're good and you want to improve..you should know not to eat the junk. it doesn't matter much if you're willing to put in an extra mile here and there..but in the long run..try and keep it to the basics. smoothies taste great and they're a whole bunch healthier than chips and soda. i know sometimes you can't resist it. i run 4 miles a day and have 10 hours of sports activities throughout the week , i know i can make up for the junk..and i'm willing to do whatever i can to end up where i want to be. set yourself a goal and work toward it. you'll know
