Where do the flat spikes go on track spikes?

thats funny, because i just did that 3 days ago. I ran four miles on it that day and it hurt the whole run and the night of, but i elevated it, iced, and took aspirin the next two days and its fine now...so try that.

Is this a good time for the 1000 for a freshman in college?

NOPE ,. CAUSE A SPRAIN IS WORSE THAN A BREAK ..CAUSE IT PULLS THE FLESH AWAY FROM THE BONE

At 5:00 today I will run 3 miles any advice?

Ace-wrap it and take it easy. Probably best to just get off it. If you have access to a pool, that would take care of your workout and be good for the ankle.

Running shoes?

I remember turning my ankle two weeks before a marathon; I was furious! So it got a lot of ice, aspirin (now I refer sodium Naproxin aka Alleve) and a couple days of rest. It was alright, but wasn't sprained, though.
Just a few days off with a couple of icings a day (ten minutes each, as cold as you can stand) and an anti-inflammtory (aspirin, alleve) will do wonders. Best to let it heal so you don't have to worry.

Also you can run in a pool about waist deep. That cuts the impact way down but allows you to keep active.

What is the normal track record for High School 100m?

I wouldn't run on it, you might make it worse.

Should i wear a hat during the afternoon run in the sun ..? and should i wear track pants in the afternoon ??

i don't think you should run on it it will make it worse just wait untill it gets better then run

What songs do you run to?

You should probably have a doctor look at it and get his opinion, since we here only can guess at how severe it really is. A doctor can evaluate the damage and give you an opinion as to what you should do.

I am a jogger, and have run on a sprained ankle, but it seemed to take forever to heal...like months. I used ace bandages to wrap it before running, and Ibuprophen to reduce the inflammation. It's good now.

If you were a pro football player, they'd probably wrap it, shoot you with pain killers, and send you out to play more!

Running Shoe Question.?

I know it's not what you want to hear...but I'd rest your ankle until it heals. If you have a serious injury and you hurt it more, you may do some long-term damage. If you have access to a sports medicine doctor or clinic, get their advice. See the links below for some info & stretches, but I'd play it on the safe side...better to miss a week or two than a year. Good luck!

I have a question about my shoes?

Yeah, it's okay. The movement will make it heal faster much like a broken arm heals faster when you continually move it around.

Running books?

u can...it just depends on the severity. i had a pretty bad sprain (purple and swelling) and i waited for about a week or so for the swelling to go down. when i ran on it, it was VERY painful and i had to do a jog/walk instead of just jogging. it was very frustrating to say the least. hell, i couldnt even point my toes w/o feeling some sort of pain.

i think the best advice would be to consult ur doctor (most likely he/she would tell u to stay off it until it gets better) but during that time, strengthen ur ankle by doing laps in a pool and rehabbing it doing exercises using a towel (pointing toes in and out).

good luck!

Junior high track?

I currently sprained my ankle pretty badly several two weeks ago. I am a huge runner. If I were you I would suggest just resting it until it is better. Yes, It's hard for a runner to take several days off, but if you run with it now it will never heal. I suggest just letting it heal. But while it's healing still walk on it and stretch it.

I need advice on an injury...?

DO NOT run on you must let it heal, if you do not it will not heal and will get progressivly worse even if it hurts a bit do not run on it. let it heal first and then get slowly back. the less you run on it the faster it will heal and the sooner you can be back out running
