How do i improve my running times on these events!?


Question:Hi Im a freshman boy
I want to get varsity, but im a little off any training tips? msucles i should be focusing on stuff like that?

100m-13.2 (preseason time trials) Varsity-12.1
200-27 ish Varsity 25.3
400- 61-63 Varsity 56

are these unrealistic goals for one season as a freshman? i just need tips to get better suprisingly a lot of these were achieved when i was in 7th grade and i hvnt really gotten a lot better---idk y and im a freshman now!

i think its cuz i kinda slacked a little, but im willing to work hard now in highschool because i want that VARSITY LETTER!!

How long would you expect me to be able to run if I called myself a "long-distance runner" and why?

nothing is unrealistic
try using leg weights and running as fast as you can on these events
it seems hard
but if you do it enough it will built your legs strength up
i did this and i was able to cut 2 seconds off my times
also be sure to switch your diet to things packed with protein and carbs to give you the energy you need to train

Is 1:23 for the 400M a good time for a 13 year old?

work on upper body wieghts alot, along with core work. abbs are important in running. For sprinting would will need to streghting you legs too but u should go for 2-3 mil runs everyonce in a while to up ur endurance so u can hold a faster pace longer

hey im exactly in your postion...but im an 8th grader...and what i do for my 400..is completly sprint the staright way and just run fast on ur turns...it hepls

my 100 i do the 110 at practice beucz then when i race i will be trained to go faster ata shorter distance


and on the 200 meter

i slow down on the 1st turn and then go all out on that straight away...and at practices stay like 10minutes after like stretching out and ur coach WILL notice!!
