Lactic acid?

Question:Hi,
Does any body know of any ways to reduce the amount of lactic acid build up in your muscles, for instance are there any foods i can eat I go running in the mornings and my leg muscles just can't take it,yet on certain days i can run the same distance no problem?
At least i think it's lactic acid so any advice or tips would be helpful.
Thank you in advance.

Asics or Mizunos?

Lactic acid is the product of running anaerobically. Your body uses the citric acid energy system which does not allow for the blood to get rid of the by product "lactic acid" fast enough to continue the exercise. This is why you start to seize up when sprinting very far. You can train yourself to tolerate higher levels of lactic acid by doing stress intervals. If your muscles are bothering you the next day it is not lactic acid. Tests have shown that no lactic acid is present in the muscles after 6 hours regardless of your cool down or stretching. The soreness is micro tears in the muscle fiber from the exercise the day before, or 2 days before. Cool down well, stretch, do some massage, take it easy for one to two days after a hard work out. This is why you should alternate hard and easy days. If you continue to be sore you are over training.

Dry throat during the 800m run?

You're overtraining. the reason you can't do the distance some mornings is because you haven't recovered from the previous run.

Are running every day? For max results, never do more than 3 days in a row without a day off. What works best for me is Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs rest, Fri, Sat, Sun rest.

If you're training really hard, every other day is probably the way to go.

I want to run long distance proffesionally/olympic how can I achieve this?

lactic acid is produced when exercising and the muscle is unable to dispose of it as quick as it occurs. it is also known as "milk acid" so you should avoid sour milky products the night before a run like yogurt, cottage cheeses and some vegan food.

Good 40 yd time?

the cheapest way is to ask your local drug store's pharmacist, their advice and/or a natural food store is very cost effective and works good in most cases.

Did good at first ever track meet but wanna get better?

Yes, run slower. During a normal endurance run, your body should not be accumulating lactic acid. Note, your body produces lactic acid all the time. However, your body also clears the lactic acid as fast as it is produced. If you are accumulating lactic acid, it means that you are running above your lactate threshold pace.

A runner runs at or above lactate threshold pace only during a race, a tempo run or during interval training. If you are running this hard everyday, you are overtraining. 80% to 90% of your running should be at an endurance pace which is well below lactate threshold pace. Competitive runners do 2 or 3 hard workouts per week max. The rest should be easy. Slow down.

Good luck with your training.

Help! twisted knee in long jump! :(?

Lactic Acid is produced when you are over-training. Allow your body to recover!!

How do I learn to run faster?

Well you could take grape seed extract which lowers the pH and has been shown to help minimally.
A better solution is to alternate hard and easy days. This will allow you to recover better between days and help keep you from getting injured.
