Should i do cross country?
I ran track in middle school and I wasnt that great (my mile was 7:50) and i didnt really get to run in 8th grade because i broke my ankle. I didnt join any sports this year (9th grade) because I had too many things to do, so I'm probably pretty out of shape. I'd like to get back in shape, but I don't want to be the worst person on CC. should i go for it or not?

How can I get a 6 minute mile, stanima and endurence, and become a faster sprinter?
I think you should definitely join. You won't have to worry about being the slowest, because there are people in track that get 9 or 10 minutes. Just be able to run for half an hour straight. They'll train you for the rest.Note: just be aware, you'll have to train every single day, and everyone i know who's in cc has knee or ankle problems cuz of that. Maybe if you're hesitant about this one, and you're good at another sport, try out for that too, and then decide

I run varsity cross country. to be honest, if you were running 7:50 in 7th grade and haven't done anything since, training is going to be horrible. but you don't have to worry about being the worst person. there are always people who run like 30 minute 5K's (which is really bad). it only takes like 3 weeks to get into shape and about 10 weeks to reach your max for that year. I started running cross country on JV this year and i was running 22:02. when I ended the season, I was 5th on varsity and running 18:23. So if you are dedicated, you can do it. I ran from 6:30-8:00 a.m. and 2:30-4:00 every single day(thats when practice was.) I love it though.Im just finishing my sophomore and greatly regret not joining xc sooner, when i was a freshman. (played baseball instead). It is a very challenging sport i must admit, but don't get discouraged about being the slowest. Im like the 5th slowest runner of like 12 guys but I still love going out there to see how far I'll push myself and I love seeing my improvement. Just keep a strong mentality and you will succeed. Even if you aren' t the fastest, do it for fun!
