What is a hash run?

Answers:

When i run cross-country how should my legs be?

A hash run is to follow a trail, laid by the Hares prior to the start of the run. Unlike a normal cross-country run, the hares build in checks to slow down the FRB's (front running bastards) so that the rest of the pack can catch up. These take the form of checks, backchecks, false trails and so on, where the trail stops and the pack has to fan out to pick it up again.
or...
someone is making a run to buy hash.

Any advice on how i could increase the duration of my jog?

Sadie has it right. The trail is usually laid down by throwing bags of flour to mark the trail. At the end whether they have been caught or not they meet and have a beer.
