Is it good to run 6 days a week?
I took a week off running, and I just started again but I am really sore, what can I do to switch up my workout, so I don't get bored--should I try the eliptical?

Wicth do you perfer 3k road or 3k crosscountry?
Depends on your body, but 6 days is pushing it. 2 days of "active rest," might be the ticket to better recovery. In fact, I like to have at least one day of true rest with no exercise.I use cycling, swimming, or a hike with the family to break it up some. So yes, ellipitcal is fine, low impact. Pick something you'll enjoy and keep up with.
Some people really advocate yoga and pilates. It might help with your soreness, and make you a better runner. Flexibility is good.
it's very good for you. the running, i mean. but the elliptical is my fave. it is definately easier than running, and it will not make you as sore- that is, unless you push yourself too hard. as for the running, once you get back in the kick of it, you'll be fine. your body just needs to adapt back to the whole scheme.
stay healthy! ♥
What are some good ways to improve my mile time?
yes its fine as long as you do proper stretches and dont puch yourself too far you should also dress for the weather because if you run in the cold and arent breathing properly then your throat can really soreWhat running spikes to buy for the 1500m ? (uk only)?
Yes...that's exactly what I would recommend..actually. An elliptical is a great cross-trainer for runners. It works out the muscles on the front of your legs (quads) which running doesn't work much. Don't be afraid to take a few rest days, here & there. Some weeks I run 6 days per week, but I probably average 4-5...it gives your body a chance to rest and recover and helps you avoid a long lay-off injury. See the link below for some other ideas to mix up your running routine with some new scenery (parks, trails, etc..). Best of luck!- Mike
yes it will keep you in shape plus you can be in track to make it fun listen to your favorite song or run with your best friend
What college does the naked mile?
Be wary of an eliptical machine because it does not provide a natural movement for your hips so it could hinder your training. Resistance excercise bikes and rowing machines would be a good alternative if you have them at your disposal.6 days a week is good. Be sure to alternate your distances. Maybe a track worout one day of some 200s, then 400s, etc. and back down as long as u run an easy 3-5 miles the next day.
