Starting track and field?


Question:uhm well i've been playing soccer for quite a while and now i want to do track for highschool and the only problem is, obviously, i haven't even tried it
so im probably not going to try out for high school yet but can you tell me the pros and cons and how i should get started on it?

i play in my high school soccer team too. and i'm also in the track team. it really helps you become a better athlete both physically and mentally. soccer is more of a physical sport. but track is has to do more with your mind. if you can master track, then you'll become a better athlete. it also gets you to respect other sports. most individuals in track are members of other sports--it will also get you to meet other athletes outside from soccer. track is a sport where there's a lot of diversity. it's very fun and challenging. it's never too late, but the sooner the better. don't worry, you'll probably won't be the only new person in track . good luck

Would I be able to do H.S. track or am I not good enough? Serious answers only! H.S. runners I need ur help!?

well u should be used to running a lot beacuae of soccer. but have to find out if u r srpinter or a long distance runner. if u fell like u r a sprinter than u can run between the 100 to 400 meter dashes. anything longer than that, u have to be a good long distance runner. u can also try hurdels and long jumping

Who/which company makes the best running shoe(s) available today?

Track is a great sport and it's fun to measure your improvement during the season. It's you vs. clock. I'm sure that you did plenty of running in soccer, now you should decide if you want to run the sprints (100, 200, 400) or the distance events (800, 1600, 3200). I'd start jogging now. Go for 1-2 miles and see if you can run the whole time without walking. If you have to walk.then walk...that's OK. Build up your stamina little-by-little. Practice hard and use your teammates to push you and make you better (you'll be doing the same for them if you give it your all). Running's a great sport and one of the few sports that you can do for the rest of your life. Enjoy!

Are enemas common for runners before races?

Track is an excellent way to get in shape and become more explosive for other sports. It all starts with conditioning and in the weightroom. Be consistant and improvement is garaunteed.

Has any one run disney marathon (2007)?

Since you should have a base conditioning you can train for track without a long transition period. I have found many soccer players are good middle distance runners. 800 to 1600 meters. When don't you try out and see if you like the sport.
