Can u always run long distance abt 8 to 9 miles on the hill. ?...will it make u strong ?

You would have to ask Clyde Hart to be sure. I have seen he and Michael Johnson train and they do lots of different things. What Clyde discovered with Michael is that you do not have to do very fast work to run fast. Michael was always getting injure in college. So they run slower intervals with less recovery. They work on the last 100 so they do not slow down as much as the other runners. It is important to come through each part of the race in the correct pace, so they work on pacing. I have seen Michael run sub max 300, walk over to the start of the 100, then sprint the last 100 at 11 flat. He would do several of these and then take a longer rest and then do some more. He never wore spikes in training, he wore jogging shoes. You can do lots of different workouts for the 400, adjusting your interval time by adjusting the recovery between and the number of intervals.
