Track!! What are some good pointers for the long jump?

For a sprinter that is really good for your age. You might want to think of joining the track team to work on it more. My mile when i was 14 was 6:10 and i was one of the fast people in my class. One way to tell if it is good is compare it to other people of the same gender as you in your class. I recommend you look into joining the track team and maybe you can improve that time to low 5 minutes and be a good competitor. I think you have a really good time but still ways to go before being a great runner. If you want to improve it just run hills a lot and you will improve.

I am running the 26.2 mile Chicago Marathon in October. Any tips. This will be my first full marathon.?

if you're running 5:40 on your mile you might want to consider switching from a sprinter to a long distance runner. find and join a track team or a cross country team to improve your time so you can break the 4min mark. you'll soon see that you can excel more in long distance than sprints.

of course that's just my opinion, if you prefer to stick with sprinting then by all means go ahead.

My best time ever was a 7:32, and I'm still trying to improve.

Food to eat before running?

Assuming you are a pe student and not a track team member that is a good time. If you think you are more of a sprinter maybe you should consider doing middle distance. The 800 to mile might be your best race distances. With training and experience you have the potential to be a good runner.
