Good running shoes for the overpronator?
Im flat footed and need some new running shoes. Im wondering which shoes will be effective for my feet. Ive looked at the Asics Gel 1110 (http://www.zappos.com/images/718/7189790... Idk whether these are gud for a person with flat feet like me. Are these good for me? If not, does anyone know any good shoes for overpronation that are fairly cheap?

My pronation was killing me until I got a set of custom insoles made. Not cheap, but they transfer from one set of shoes to another. Fit street shoes and running shoes equally. You just step in a shoebox full of compressible foam that makes a print of the bottom of your foot, they send it off somewhere and back come these inserts. Saved my live. And the heels on my shoes.What were you thinking before you had your best race?

How do i get my speed up in running?
I overpronate, and I have Saucony Hurricane 8 with "arch lock." I really like them, and I haven't had too many problems with them. Just make sure you get the right shoe for you, and make sure it has a hard plastic-y support on the inside. Go to a good running store around your area and they should be able to help you a lot. i'm a flat footed overpronator myself and i use saucony cohesion xt600. they were pretty cheap and provide pretty good support and cushioning. although i've only been wearing them for a week now so i can't really give you accurate feedback on how good they were.try to get yourself some orthodics, they're expensive but they'll save you a load of pain in the long run.

A basic distinction with all good running shoes is whether they are motion-control/stability or well cushioned. Good running shoe store clerks should be able to tell you.Check eastbay.com in the running section. They will label the good running shoes as one or the other. You should be able to find out about the one asics style you referred to.
