I plan to run my 1st 5k; what is a good finishing time ? a decent average finish line time ?

Can you give me the techniques in 100 meter dash?
A good finish time would be anything under 15 minute miles. A decent finish time would be about 12 minute miles. To be competitive, you need to be doing 9 minute miles or less.PS You did not mention your age. This really has a lot to do with timing. Most races have age group awards. Last week I won second place in a 5K for my age group--50 to 54 Female.
Ahhh i think i have stress fractures.. maybe?
well I run around 19 minutes anda) i'm a girl and
b) I don't how much in shape you are
just get out there and run, it doesn't really matter what time you get.just try and beat it the next time
I run a 4.5 now what is a estimated time i can run by senior yea?
it depends on what shape you are in right now... marathoners can run it in 20 minutes.ive been running for a year, im in quite decent shape , it takes me about an hour to run 10k... dont worry about the time, just pace yourself... there are several sites online that you can browse to guide you in your training...How can I improve on my 2-mile run and the amount of sit-ups I do on my Army Physical Fitness Test?
20 minutes to 21:30- decent and respectable, you are a fit individual.19 minutes to 20 minutes - you are fast and will do extremely well at most races, unless they are huge events with many entrants.
18 minutes to 19 minutes - you train hard and are very fast but not "one of the best" or an elite runner.
Below 18 minutes - You are "The Flash", if people blink, they might miss you.
I think you'll find if you can come in under that 21 minute mark, you'll do well at most 5K events.
How many calories should i take before a long distance race?
i'd say 21 minutes and under would be a good finishing timeDo you walk briskly or do you saunter ?
Shoot for under 23 minutes, a good time is under 20. At my highschool you couldnt get on varsity unless you ran under 18 minutes. If this is your first 5k then it doesnt matter how you finish, just remeber that you can keep going no matter what your mind says, just stay in the run and keep pushing. Your legs will keep going as long as you let them. Have fun! That is the most important part.I just joined the track team and I need help?
The question is impossible to answer without knowing some background. A good finishing time could be anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes, depending upon your age, gender and experience. If it's your first 5K, just give it your best. Start out at a reasonable pace (starting too fast will slow your overall time) and pace yourself. Pick up the pace if you are feeling strong, but don't use everything you have too early.Whatever time you have will be a good finishing time, and something you can use as a benchmark for future runs.
I think a major portion of the population can run the 5k under 15 minutes if they trained and ate right. They key is steady incremental progress. No masterpiece was ever built in a day. I am not a pure runner, I cross train between 5k running and bodybuilding and my last race this Sunday I came through at 20:31 (I knocked a minute off my time from my March race). Now my goal for next month's race is going to be under 20 (knowing that down the road I want to run under 17). Patience and training my friend. Let your first race be a benchmark, then take it from there inch by inch.
I want to start running how do I start?
i run it in roughly 18min so if its ur first time prob aim 4 the 20min markIs 15-16 seconds for the 100 meter dash a bad time for an 8th grade girl?
Well, it really depends what kind of shape you are in and whether you've trained for it. My first 5k was seriously 30 min. it was absolutely dreadful. But after training for a short amount of time with the cross country team at my school, it easily dropped down to 19 min. Which is typical for people who have worked towards it. Really good 5k runenrs go about 14-16 min. What running books do you recommend?
It sounds like you are doing this on a some what competitive level, as opposed to just doing it alone for training. A good finishing time huh? Well, what can you do for time now? If I told you a time that you could not achieve would it matter? Not to be Mr. Rogers or anything, but just get in there and do your very best. Any time you finish is a respectable time. But for an average, depends on your shape of course, but try for 20-25. If you think you can do better, go for it. Good luckWhat size spikes do a Asics Hyper MD track cleat have?
it kinda depends on what the course is like...if their are hill, downhills, running on sand and what not...i would think that a good time is around 18 mins. What inspires you the most about running?
