or no?

I just ran a 4.40 mile in gym. I am a 5th grader. Is that good?

The carbs will get into your system but so will that big lump of spaghetti and depending on how fast you digest things it could make for a bad situation around race time. I hate to get that nitty gritty on you but your nerves cause things to- um, come out differently? Faster? Not as pleasant? And you might want to re-think what you put in your body because come 1pm it might be coming out in a not so nice fashion. Carb loading isn't something I really ever understood. I think that as long as you eat healthy and give your body good nutrients it will perform better. Unless you eat spaghetti every morning I wouldn't think of changing things up and giving it that the day of the race. Have a nice breakfast- oatmeal with a banana; drink lots of water and maybe have a protein bar around 11 so that by 1 you're ready to go. Loading yourself up just means you'll have to unload later. I wouldn't suggest doing that the day of your race. You might not appreciate the end results :-)

(I honestly tried to make that as non-gross as possible.I ran cross country and track for 7 years and judging by the porta potties, I think I have a pretty solid source of evidence.) LOL

What are the best shoes for Pole vault and also long jump??

Sure. Most carbs kick in after about half an hour. Just make sure that you get a right before and right after the race, and gels or something like them about every 20-30 minutes. If you don't take gels during a long race, you'll "bonk" (run out of circulating blood glucose) and your liver will dump whatever it has stored in the way of glucose. This will leave you feeling not just tired after the race but exhausted for the next few days.

Red bull/running?

I don't believe you would have adequate time to digest the carbohydrates into something useful. So in other words, I wouldn't do it. On top of that, if you eat to much, you will likely not feel to great during the race.

Is it true that you run in very cold weather with a t-shirt if you just wear gloves and a hat?

yup.

What's a good time for the 55 meter hurdles? for the 110 meter?

No not really. If you want to really get the benifits of carbs you need to eat pasta about two days before you run. The day before you run you should eat something high in protien. The reason being that your body will store the carbs, and protien is what your body needs to help digest and prosess the carbs.

Eating pasta in the morning for an afternoon race will not really do anything. Eating the right diet all week is the best way to reap the benifits.

How many yards are there in a mile?

not really

most athletes start 'carb loading' a couple days before a long race. you should eat the spaghetti at least the night before to have any affect.

but it also depends on what distance you are running. Anything under 5K, and carbo loading wont have much affect anyway, as your body will run primarily on the glocose stored in your muscles.

How hard is it to hold a 5k to raise money?
