I want to be a guide runner...where can I start?

I read in a book about guide runners and what they do, and I would really really like to be one! I have a natural talent for running and the heart for helping people. This is something I've always wanted to do! I live in Wisconsin, and I was wondering if there were any programs I could volunteer with. Please help! Thanks!
