Dont work on distance. I would run sprints no longer than 100 yards. You wanna be quick, not fast. Most of the time the clock for the 40 starts with your first move. Your start can make you look very quick or just average. And form is important also. Keep your knees up and your head still. Roger Craig of the 49ers back in the day had maybe the best form ever. And you might wanna try some weights on your ankles when your practicing your sprints. Its like swinging a weight bat in baseball before you actually step into the batters box. If you can run around a 5 flat with weights on your ankles, that might translate to about a 4.7 or better without them.Whats a good time for a 15 year old 100 meter sprint?
if you want to improve on this time you need to simply practice running the 40 over and over, dont bother running distance. Also work on your starts, practice the starts because the first ten yards are the most important in running a 40.Is throwing 34 feet with the 4kg shot put for a 13 year old gud??
im a freshman too. my 40 yard time is 4.7. that's the fatest time in county. well if u run everyday nonstop. u can improve a lot. and remember u need to practise start really good. u need to have a block that make your srart fast. block is the most important one.It helps if you keep your eyes on a fixed point.. also think about something while your running pretend their is a huge lion chasing you or think about a pretty girl that you like is right up the road and some other boy is a bout to ask her out
What is the average qualifying time for a 200m sprinter?
Power squats.work on your hip flexer muscle. It is the muscle that is at the top of your thigh, right below your belt line.
I ran 4.5 in high school and it was all about quickness off the gun.
I also would let someone go in front of me and chase him down.
