400m race help please?

Always practice on hurdles shorter and closer.
Make sure when running this drill hurdles are closer and shorter than competition.
The shorter distance allows you to better simulate race pace and work on leg speed between the hurdles and will simulate the effects of a tail wind
Lower hurdles, enables you to work on the rhythm between the hurdles and on leg speed

In practice shorten the distance and height between the hurdles so that you can 3 step without bounding.
Hurdle workout drills:
1.
Move all of the hurdles in one of your foot lengths (1st hurdle 1 foot in 2nd 2 feet and so one until all the hurdles are set up) and then move all of the hurdle down 3 inches lower than race height.

2.
Remove hurdle 5 or 6 from the full set of 10. The athlete will use a normal stride pattern up to the gap, 7 strides in the gap and a fast normal pattern for the rest of the run. This enables you to simulate the leg speed and clearance speed of the final four or five hurdles

3.
you should occasionally train over 11 or even 12 hurdles closer distances in the space of 100M, this simulates speed endurance and gets you to run through the finish line

I need a really good sports bra, any suggestions?

i am in 7th grade and in our grade we do the 75m hurdles. my time is about 13.7 seconds.

i think that ur time in hurdles sounds pretty good but theres always room for better. to improve try: bigger steps, more steppin over the hurdles then jumping, and after that first foot hits the ground after the hurdle ur next foot should be a big step.

come out of the starting blocks FAST. and give it ur all in the last part.

good luck.

400 meter hip pains?

To get faster you are going to have to 3 step. To do this you need to practice. Try moving the hurdles closer together so you can 3 step. After you have confidence then move them slightly farther apart. Eventually they will be at the 8 1/2 meter spacing. I do not have the students practice at the 8 1/2 meter spacing. Place the first hurdle at normal 13 meters from the start. Place the second hurdle 1 foot closer, the second hurdle 2 feet closer, and so on. In a race you can stride farther and faster than in practice, so this works out about right. Once you have 3 steps you will see a remarkable improvement, but if you stay at 4 steps you are limiting yourself.

How long do jogging shoes last unused and in the closet?

I am a hurdle coach at a high school and if you break into the sixteens you may have a chance. It depends on your district how fast you will need to run to get to the finals. Getting into the fifteens would secure you a place but I know thats a lot to knock off so quickly. Just keep working at it and remember that you still have more time to improve. I wish you the best of luck and rememeber to just keep running because in the hurdles anything can happen.
