Does jumping higher makes you run faster?
i am so confused right now! some people say jumping higher makes you run faster but other say it dont. so what is the truth?? HELP ME!!!!!!

Okay, the same answer. No, jumping higher does not make you faster. It is not the same. Doing jumping drills, which are some of the plyometrics exercises that will help you to jump and run work the major muscles used for most events. Just because someone can jump high does not make them a fast runner. It is comparing apples to oranges. I don't know who told you jumping high makes you a faster runner, but they are wrong! It takes speed to jump, it is the conversion from horizontal speed to vertical speed. However, you can not convert horizontal speed to vertical speed. There are plenty of high jumpers who can not run fast, and if you learn and train to jump you are working muscles you can use in running, but it will not make you faster unless you train to run faster.What is the world record for the 800 meter race?
running is jumping a lil bit each time...so jumping higher and running go hand in handJumping is great work for fast-twitch muscle fibers, but not necessarily the muscles you use for running, especially if you run distance. It would be sensless to think that record high-jumpers on a track + field team could also get records in sprints, and most jumpers could not even finish a marathon. It just doesn't work that way.
That doesn't mean that jumping drills aren't benficial for sprinter, it just means your entire training should not center on jumping.
Are high jumpers long distance runners? No. And there's a good reason- some of us can jump high, some of us can run fast and long- you rarely find someone that can do both. So no, jumping higher doesn't mean squat.

Actually, sprinting short distances strengthens your calves to help you jump higher. So I read.yes and no. if you practice jumping, your leg muscles will work out and get stornger, which will help you run. but literally, it wont help.
I am a track athlete and i high jump (5'4") which isnt bad for a 16 yr old male and i am 5'10". My 100m time is like 14 seconds which isnt good at all for my age. Jumping high doesnt make you run faster
