Runner--concerned with abnormal heels?

I'm a high school runner and I am slightly worried over my irregular heel structure. They are not smooth--when i raise my toe as if stretching my calf they protrude significantly. This is not at the bottom of my heel, but where the Achilles connects. I don't think it affects my overall performance, but I was wondering if anyone has similar issues or has thoughts on the matter.

This sounds like what is called a "Haglund's deformity." While it is not dangerous, if you don't stretch your achilles tendon enough you might eventually need surgery.
