I want to join track next year?
Question:i am 13 years old and i run pretty fast so i want to join track for my first year in highschool
so i have from now to the next school year to improve my speed what could i do that could make me run fast

You've gotten some fgood advice as far as the running goes. Shoes are really important, so get good advice about that too. If you can join a running club, as the other members. Otherwise, go to an athletic shoe store where the people are knowledgeable. I got my last pair at a New Balance store, and the salesman asked about how I'd be using the shoes, and actually had me take my shoes off and walk back and forth for him, so he could see if I pronate or supinate.get used to running maybe use a tredmil a couple of times a week or jog around your block or something
Is it possible to do better in track when its cold?
You should run summer track this year. Go to www.usatf.org you will find your local association and then they can give you the names of several clubs. Meet the people, find coaches you like, and run in some meets. You will be racing against kids your age, not seniors in H.S. It will give you experience for next year.Run a lot over the summer and work out. maybe find a summer track club in your area. You also might be able to contact the coaches that you'll know youll have and they could help you out and tell you what you should do to be prepared.

GO FOR IT DUDE. that was a great idea. remember there will be lot of fast runner when you go to high scool maybe ur faster then other maybe not. im a 9th greader and i just came home from track practice. you wanna get fast practice everyday. when u go to high school there will be many kind of practice that u have to do. it's lot of pain first 2,3 weeks. but keep it up. practice hard. i throw up 3 times in practice.My hip hurts, and I dont know why. just go on long distance runs consisting of 3 or 4 miles, before the season starts. also get a pair of asics, which is really good running shoes. you can order them off line or get them at a running store near you. Also you wouldnt need a pair of spikesMore Questions & Answers...
