How many seconds can I cut from my mile time?
I currently run a 5:00 mile. I have never had any kind of track coaching. If I joined my hs track team how much could i get my time down to?

30 seconds the 1st year.Who is the state represenative for TN?
Well you'd be suprised at how much time you can cut. As a freshman I finished the season running a 5:30, and with little training over the summer such as running 2-3 times a week, i ran a 4:53 at my first meet. you can steadily imporove your time in the short distance of 1 mile, and this will greatly improve your time in the longer distances. At my sophmore year my time fluxuated from 4:59 to a best of 4:49. When you get into the low times it is expected that your time will be constantly changing, so you shouldn't always expect to run a personal best every time. But the thing about track is that you are pushed beyond your normal limits, so you would get MUCH faster on a track team than by yourself. because on a team you stretch harder, work harder, and you make friends which makes running more enjoyable. So if you joined the Track team you could eadily see yourself running well into the 4 minutes.5:00 is pretty good for mile time, i got 10:59 and im not even fat.
Thats a really good time, and you can definitely drop at 20 seconds with a whole season of being on the team. Good luck :)
Does anyone have any experience with a patella strap?
i think you will go about 4 30. if you have never ran seriously your track team will help you get down to the 4 30 mileYou could run well under 4:50 by the end of the year. It depends on how much you build up your base and how much you are really dedicated to your training. I recommend cross country as well.
