the best breathing is what comes naturally, if you are doing it right, you wont even notice.for jogging, you want long slow breaths. you should be able to talk while jogging, if not you're going too fast. it can help if you think about breathing in for 4 paces, and out for 4 paces. Some people find that singing to themselves helps them keep that breathing /pacing straight.
also, you should be breathing from your diaphragm, long deep breaths into your belly. your chest and shoulders should not move while you breathe.
I'm running a 5k on May 5th, any tips...?
In - out - repeatRemarkably similar to the redneck's sex manual.
When i run i sing random songs in my head dose any one Else do that?
Look down and see how you're breathing. Is your stomach moving? If it isn't and only your chest is moving, you're doing it wrong! You need to breathe with both your chest and stomach. You get more air that way. Practise this. This will help against side cramps when you jog.P.S. Don't forget to breathe either! Always continue taking air in and breathing out, through the nostrils is best.
synchronise your breathing with that of your pace.
breath in with 2 steps, and out for the consecutive 2.
hope that helps.

The best thing to do is to breath in and out with your mouth. more oxygen gets to your organs, veins, arms, and legs that way. The breakdown goes like this. 100% of the oxygen that your body takes in gets broken down as such;50% goes to the brain
30% goes to your organs;
20% goes to your arms and legs
If you breath just through your nose, the amount of oxygen entering your body is much less than breathing through your mouth. You should also let your body dictate your breathing. It's natural. By trying to change the way you breath will change the way your body chemistry works. Other than that you can meditate when you are not exercising.
Most of these answers are wrong.
All you need to do is
IN THROUGH NOSE, OUT THROUGH MOUTH
What would be the appropirate time for a 17 year old runner?
I love hearing (or reading) this question because it gets asked a lot. But the thing is, there's no special trick to breathing except that you just try to keep an even pace. You can breath in and out through your nose, but you will find it very difficult to do when you run for long distances because your nostrils are too small to allow enough oxygen to get in. Breath through your mouth when you feel that you need extra air.Basically, just do what comes naturally. Trust me, you have been doing it successfully for a very long time. You were jogging and breathing since you were a kid, and there's no reason to do anything differently just because you're older.
Anyone have a training schedule for 200 mile multiday run?
Always breathe in thru ur mouth and out through ur nose. It takes a while to get used to, but after that it really helps. Knocked 1 min of my 3200 meter timePulled my hip flexor...what can i do?
In through your nose, out through your mouth. This also reduces side cramps. Your breathing should be rhythmic with your running. But don't focus too much on it- you'll drive yourself nuts and end of OUT of breath!Dry throat during the 800m run?
The trick to start with is to completely relax your body, especially your shoulders. Try to breath in with nose and out through your mouth.I want to improve my 1km run time, right now its 3 minutes but i wanna go faster any tips?
There is no special breathing technique for running. However, your breathing pattern can indicate whether you are running too fast. In general, most experienced runners breath with a 2-2 pattern, i.e. 2 steps inhaling and 2 steps exhaling. If you are breathing faster than this then the pace is too fast. There are variations some runners do a 2-3 or 3-2 or if the pace is really slow then a 3-3 pattern. Just relax and run at a pace where your breathing is natural.breathe in your nose and out your mouth :)
