I run 800's and 1600's?
I want to improve my times. for the 1600- I usually get around 7 minutes, and for the 800's- around 3. Please help. i hate being one of the slowest kids on my team lol.

The night before you have running drink alot of water, and when it is the time of running make sure you have a bottle of water so when you get tired you drink. I think that will help.

What is the best way to train for a 20 mile marathon?
Train harder numnuts...A lot of speedwork with some long runs.Can people reccomend some good running places in S.A. TX that is not on asphault or concrete?
Well, a good thing to do for both is run a good among of miles and do mile repeat. Then for you 800, you also can do sprint workouts. I was a sprint for three years in high school and didnt run the 800m until the end of my junior year and find out that I could run it in 2 flat. I did those races in high school, too. To train for both of those races, I ran double for practice. That means, 1600m= 3200m for endurance. Now for speed, i ran 200m sprints. For the sprints, use the whole track. Sprint the first 200m, then rest the next 200m. then do it all over again. I'd say a total of 3 laps. For 1600m endurance, run the 3200m on the outside lane because obviously you'll be running more than 3200m. Try training yourself to run the 1600m on the outside lane,and a try to cut down your times there. Then every now and then, run the 1600m on the inside lane and your time will eventually get better.
