I doubt it. A 4:30 mile is incredibly fast, I would shoot for a lower goal like 6:00 first, then get it down to 5:30, and so on.

If your mile jog is over 8 minutes

Depends on how fast your are going now. If you are doing 12 minutes, then yes, if you are doing 6 minutes then no. Considering that you are jogging I am thinking maybe you are above 10 minutes for the mile. If so, then going from 12 to 9 is not hard. The faster you are going now will make it more difficult because we are talking about percentages. By increasing your distance and running a little faster you can improve a lot before Sept. With your amendment saying you are running 7:30, then no, you can not shed 3 minutes per mile before sept. and probably never.

It's reasonable, but it's gonna take alot of work. Just mix the proper distance running with the proper speed training. Eat healthy, rest, and don't over do it. Just gradually work yourself down to a better time. Don't try to do it all at once. A 4:30 mile is pretty fast. I,myself could only get to a 4:45 mile time. I only weighed 120lbs at the time. As long as that is your only focus, no other sports, you can do it with determination. Listen to your body. Good luck!

It depends where it is now. If it is at 11 or something like that it will be pretty easy as just about any pace is faster. I jog at about a 8 minute mile average for 4+ miles on the weekends and it was up at 10 about 5 months ago, so it is possible. However, if I am running full speed for part that will easily shed time.

Improving in long jump for track and field?

Since you're a dude, it should be a cinch, depending on what you're running now. If you really suck and are sitting at like 8 minutes, then yeah, it's possible. You should be able to get under 6.5 minutes by that time if you run about 6 miles a day and do a ton of sit-ups.

Hurdles?

It definitely would be more than jogging, but you would be 45 seconds slower than the world record if you do which is very impressive.

Which runnig shoe should I choose ?

I guess it depends on what your time is now. The guys on my track team can run it in just under 5 min. If it is over 8 then yea, you should be able to knock 3 min off by September. Oh, by the way, it should be a mile RUN. Not a JOG!
