What is the Best Running shoe ever?
I live where it is hot and humid so I try to run in the early morning or late evening. You can breath however is best for you. It does not matter whether you breath in through your nose or mouth. The air goes to the same place at the same time. I can not breath through my nose. Just be certain you take long deep breaths do not gasp or pant short breaths. If you are used to running 4 miles there must be some reason you are having problems with the 1 mile. You could be allergic to something in the air, like pollen, or dust. Are you breathing correctly? The whole breathe in your nose and then exhale out your mouth? We Are supposed to do that during football practice to reduce getting cramps, and it builds your endurance up
depending on were you live you could have an allergy to something I would check what the pollen count is around you you are taking more of it into your system when you breath
and i would go to a doctor and check it out, this is if you are running outside, if it happens when you are running inside you could have a form of asthma and I would go to the family doctor and see what they say about it.
Good Luck and I hope this helps
I would say that you are running to fast and that this is what is causing you to breath so hard. A great way to monitor effort is with a heart rate monitor. Buy any book by Coach Roy Benson this guy knows his stuff about heart rate monitor training.
Do I have to be a member of the local YMCA to use their outdoor running track?
breath in through your nose and out through your mouth and also make sure you have a rhythm in your breathing pattern. and to get better keep long strides throughout the whole race and don't drink to much before races. How can I improve my running speed?(besides running)?
You have to build up your endurance so you don't get tired. Its very normal to experience this until you work up to the distance.maybe you need to go find out if you have breathing problems if this continues every time you run go see a doctor
