How much running would be considered healthy for an 18-19 year old male?

i'm not in great shape atm. I can run about 4 miles in 30 minutes about 3 times a week... but my target is 5 miles in 30 minutes by the end of june... and eventually 7-8 miles at 6 minutes/mile. Then i'd probably think about it more after that.

Running advice for 10k in 6 weeks?

If your not in great shape 4 miles in 30 minutes is excellent, but trying to add another mile in half an hour might be quite hard especially in this short time period. But 7-8 miles at 6 miles/minute is quite a good dream, i'm sure you will get there, it just may take longer than you have expected.

Hamstring trouble?

So are you interested in being healthy or running fast times at distance? You will need to increase your distance and the number of days you run to meet your targets. Do not run more than six days per week. You should be able to run five miles now if you have been doing four miles three times per week. Doing five miles five times per week and a longer run one day per week will improve your endurance fast. Do not increase your distance more than 25% each month to six weeks.
