I disagree with most people here. I also run 1500 metres race and through my time i find the best thing to have is a high carbo foods . You can get carbo gel or tablets from your local pharmacy. Also eat pasta that morning or the night before depending on what time your race is. apart from the high carb food which i eat 10 minutes before my race i wouldnt eat anything else within 2hours of your race. Good luck.

Eat something that you will digest. You do not need to carbo load since you are only running 1500. Stay away from a big protein meal. Drink plenty of water. Just before the race don't eat anything. Most people will not eat within 4 hours of a race, and that depends on your stomach. You have been racing so what is your usual routine? Stick with what has worked in the past. There is no magic meal or drink that will help you win. It is up to your conditioning and tactics of the race.
