Training for track. Kinda started late...?

Well im a grade 8 girl and our track meet is on the 29 so i dont have long. Im generally a runner i cant throw very well and im not a significant jumper. We dont do hurtles until grade 10 either. How can i train for track? Im on the relay team and we have gym everyday and we practice then. I am having problems with my right leg though, i can hardly walk on it, i take tylenol and it helps but i cant run to what i usually would be able to. I cant take a break from running or i get cut from the relay team. Im the first runner for that. I would like to run long distance so im asking how can i increase my speed, help my injury and not lose my breathe? Please answer i should have started training a while ago i know!

Best way to get faster?(400m dash)?

Depnds on the races you want to participate in. First of all, you may want to start with some endurance runs to get you body back in shape. Nothing too fast though. Relay team, sounds like you may want to run maybe 200m sprints. By that i mean, sprint the first 200m, then walk the next 200m. Then do it over. For runs like 1600m, try running 800m at a real good pace in stages like the 200m sprints. But endurance is the key. As far as the injury, depends on the severity of the pain and where its located. Apply ice, and maybe take some anti-inflammatory(NSAID) like 200mg Aleve, but not too much. Rest as much as possible. Learn some stretching techniques. Before you run, make sure you stretch your lung by taking deep breathes, and that will also help calm your nerves down. As far as when you started training, no time time is better than the present. Good luck!

Don't push yourself while injured. There will always be more meets.

Red bull/running?

If your having problem's with you leg you need to back off for a couple of weeks and let it heal or you wont be running anywhere ever. As for increasing your distance this is gunna take time need to build up slowly hence the injury you already have, speed will come with time and fitness. Breathing you can count in for 4 breathes and out 4 breathes while running this will help to establish a breathing pattern it is hard at first but will soon get you breathing easy. You need to also ensure that you stretch after all runs, tight muscles means injury will happen unless you take 5 minutes. Happy running.
