Is it alright to do squats with a stress fracture? I quit running. I want to lift weights until I heal.?

Answers:

First time marathon?

Where's the fracture? I'm going to say no, definitely not, even without knowing... No leg lifts either.

I'm guessing it's in your lower leg? Put a lot of weight and strain on a stress fracture and you could turn it into a compound/complex fracture. I wouldn't chance it. That kind of injury takes a lot longer to heal!

What should long distance runners - 25 kms - consume during the event in terms of carbohydrates and fluids?

No, it is still a load factor on the bone. You should not be doing any work that puts weight or stress on the bone. Try stationary bike, swimming, maybe elliptical.

Diet while training for 1/2 marathon?

umm no i dont think soo

Please help!?

where is the fracture. to be honest with you; what you are doing is not wise. if you want to workout do core (ab) work. i would rest and heel. it will get worse if you continue doing squats
