In a 10 Km race, should I run the first half faster than the second or vice versa?

Track and Field Tips anyone??

Most runners make the mistake of going out faster then they should. The idea in Long Distance running is to run at a consistent pace through out the race. You really don't want to go out faster, as you could tire and not leave anything in the tank for the last 5K.

Any ideas for improving starts in a 60m, 100m, or 200m at?

the begining you should runit faster because at the end you'll be able to push your self to run faster then you could to finish the race

You should runthe race evenly. You willl probably slow down a little in the second half, but you want to come in at the same pace you go out. If you go out too slow it is doubtful you will be able to kick in because you are going to be tired and not be able to run much faster than you did in the first half. If you go out too fast you will tire and slow down. It is much better to run an even pace for the entire race.

I am looking for 6E neutral running shoes, can they be found?

I am beter at 400m but coach wants me to stick to 800m?

Well, you kinda want to run them equal as possible. Start out at a real good pace, but not to the point where you can't catch your breath. Most people want to start out fast, then slow down, but lose more than they know. Make sure your lungs are stretched before you run, by taking deep breathes. 3 or 4 times should do the trick. While you are running, try not to look at the ground because it mentally makes you feel tired. Instead, look up into the horizon. As you keep a constant pace, you'll slowly pass people who you know started out too fast. Save a lil bit of energy for the end, just enough for you too be able to more or less sprint to the end. You should be almost dead tired at the end, and thats when you know you have given it your all. Good luck!!

Respectable 100m time?

run it at an equal pace. not too fst not too slow. u hav to noe ur limits. work on the steps you take, try to make em bigger, so u cover more space wif every step.but wen u are going to reach the finish line, try to sprint till d finish line as a good finish. dont try to overtake someone wen they're far ahead.keep wif u pace and slowly beat him.
