Form is also a big part... if you are running with your arms coming across your body, that's bad. And relax as best you can. look forward when you're running instead of looking around. Also, even though you feel like your legs are spaghetti already, give all you've got in the last stretch. Sprint to the end as best you can. Use your arms to power your body also, instead of just your legs.
