Question:Hi, I'm 13 years old and i've got a really important 1500m county race coming up in a weeks time. I'm looking for any advice concerning training and what to eat bulding up to and on the race day. Below i've listed some of my time to give you an idea of what level I run at. Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated.
1500 m = 5:10 minutes
100m = 13.5 seconds
400m = 33.7 seconds

Hi iam a guy 17 years old and i have chicken legs.?

A 400m in 33.7 is i think a world record, so id check the watch again, but im 16 and ive been doing competitive distance running since fifth grade, and i think my advice for the 1500m run is being mentally prepared, start thinking about the race two days before, and just know that whoever that guy in first place is, you are going to stay with, half the battle of winning is being able to endure more pain than anyone else out there, and turn it into a pure guts race. also type in steve prefontaine on google and read about this guy and learn about how he raced, and try to race like him.

What are good running shoes for a big guy? not fat.?

In only one week you really don't have time to train. What you can do is focus on the race. If you run 5:10 and want to improve then do a day of 4x400 at 1:20 with 1 minute rest. One day of 5x200 at :35 with 1 minute rest. This speed work will make you sharper in the race. It will also give you a sense of your pace. Run easy on the other days, about 3 miles at a leisurely pace. Warm up and stretch and then do some strides the day before the race.
