Making Varsity Cross Country Team?

I'm a pretty good runner, and I can run 2-2.5 miles pretty easily (not sure about the time but at a decent pace). I'm going to be a sophomore next year and really want to do well in X-country, hopefully make the varsity team. Any help/tips? Thanks.

Ask your coach for a summer running plan and follow it. This will help your running, and it will also impress your coach with your dedication, which will also help place you on the varsity team (as long as your times are good enough).

2-2.5 miles should b ur short run. And if u wanna b on varsity than ur gunna need a long run which should b 7-8 miles and that should b once a week. But u need to run consistently.

Put your heart and soul into every run. The Coach has to notice. That is, If you REALLY want to make it.

Ankle Weights?

In addition to running over the summer, do some cross training, things like swimming, weights, biking, tennis. This will help you develop other muscles and help you avoid overtraining and injury.
