Track!! What are some good pointers for the long jump?
Answers:
At takeoff and during flight, your eyes should be looking up at a forty five degree angle from horizontal. If you want to go up and out, that's where you need to look.
Whether you hitch(running in the air with circular arm and leg movements) or hang(extended arms while slightly arching the back)torso should remain upright, arms sweep downward, fully extended until the hands are near the hips. Legs should extend out in front of the body and upon impact, knees should flex forward to continue forward movement for good landing.
long jump training requires sprint workouts(Improving your speed in the long jump is critical to good distance), flexibility and strength training, repetition after repetition (which gives you an edge and can be gained through long jump drills in practice)
you’ll need to increase core strength (circuit or weight training) and work out a running program which includes speed interval training
Try this work out I use for my jumpers
Day 1 - 6 x 30m accelerations, drills
Day 2 - runway work, full and half approach runs with no jumps
Day 3 - 3-step jumps, 5 x 50m sprints
Day 4 - full approach jumps
Day 5 - 6 x 150m runs, drills

What is the best Marathon to run First?
There are many factors into the long jump.1.Make sure your foot work is correct. You have to be able to take of perfectly and balanced
2.Make sure to push foward with your chest. It will help you get further
3.Your leg muscle can be very important. The higher or longer you jump can be affected by your leg muscle. Make sure to make strong legs
4.Make sure your not tirer out. Be full of energy. You will need all the energy you have to do a long jump.
I am in track too!!
The common sense pointers are:
1. Develop your leg muscles in gym using the weight system. Tone your upper body muscles by doing sit up and chin up.
2. Train your short distance sprint speed on a gentle slope
3. Have a pair of light track shoes with short spikes
4. Measure the distance to the board and mark it. Practise and adjust the distance until your master leg (usually right leg) step on board every time when you jump
5. Consult your PE teacher on the technique of jumping. Usually, you have to look slightly above eye level. This is to jump slightly higher so that the momentum will push you further. If you can do a cycling action in the air it will be better.
6. Train to get your body forward and not falling backward after landing
You can borrow books / video from library on long jumping.
If you have further query, drop an email to Carl Lewis. He is the right person who can give you a set of very detailed pointers.
