Joining the track team is a good idea for anyone interested in running or increasing their fitness. You don't have to be record-breaker or a even a "first heat" runner to enjoy the benefits of being on the team. It will make you physically and mentally healthier. as long as you train and do the work needed. Just go for it. You'll have fun and find out how fast you can run - experiment and try a bunch of distances. If you'd like, even try the field events see what you have talent at. Chances are there's something in track you'll be good at.Tredmill workouts?? any ideas?
