So now that track season is over, is it possible to do this?
Question:this was my first year as a track runner and i'm a sophmore in highschool. i ran the 800 all season but it wasn't consistent. the fastest i got was 2:38 and the slowest was 2:50.
if i train all summer long and do cross country, is it possible for somebody (like me) to get the time down to about 2:10 in 6 months or so?

Absolutely, if you train all summer, and then complete a season of cross country next fall, you could easily run a PR of 2:10 for your junior year of track. Do you have a competent track and cross country coach who knows what he's doing? If yes, and you are commited to training, you can probably run sub 2:10. but it really depends on your physical maturity, body wise that is. you could hit it hard and not see much of any improvement also. or you could not see much improvement until you hit age 19 or 20 and then just explode.
but i am not a track star, though track and field is my favorite to watch, i am a weight lifter/mma
Definitely. If you want it bad enough. I'm not gonna lie, you'll probably have to work hard for it, but then again things like this are easy for some people. And where are you that the track season is so short? I live in Alaska and we're still running.

yes it is very possible and if you are doing cross country it will only increase your endurance . so you will be able to drop your times immediately.I think run make you hurt and it is Possible to do that.
