Answers:

Using Menthol before running?

As you probably know, Piriformis Syndrome is a rare neuromuscular disorder that occurs when the piriformis muscle compresses or irritates the sciatic nerve-the largest nerve in the body.

Treatment typically consists of rest, stretches, and physical therapy. You can find one type of stretch for the piriformis at the link below. Other physical therapy will consists of stretches of the hamstrings and hip muscles, as well as strengthening exercises of the abdominal, back, and quadriceps muscles to ease the strain on the piriformis muscle.

Finally, some physicians will tell you to stop running completely so as to not aggravate your condition. I know from a number of other runners who experienced Piriformis Syndrome that it is okay to run if you can, and it may actually help by strengthening key muscles to alleviate your pain. However, you should stop immediately if you experience inconvenience, and certainly well before you experience sciatica.

Good luck~!
