2-3 mile run isn't that hard. I remember one night I ran about 7-8 miles and I had no idea what happened, because I usually just run about 3 miles, and I just did 8 miles and i was astonished. I don't even run track or anything. I'm 6'4" 190 lbs. What I do, is get jacked up by listening to music when i run and just keep up your pace, and just think "No Pain" to yourself...just think that your body can take it, and that you're almost done. It's all in the mind.Wich is best cross country or road running?
when you wake up shouldn't watch TV stretch eat a healthy breakfast maybe bring your dog or a pocket sized radio with u to not be bored oh ya um bring lots of water and wen u get back take a cool shower then eat another snack that's healthy but fills u upif u get tired stop. work ur way up.
Eat 1 hour before-hand a high carb meal like whole wheat toast and jelly or honey. Bring water with you for any running time over 30 minutes. Be sure you are well hydrated before running as well. Bring something to eat for runs over 1 hour- your glycogen stores will deplete after about an hour. Suggestions for things to bring to eat are: power bars, gu, honey packets or peanut butter packets. Take walk breaks every mile for 1 minute if running a total distance of 5 miles or over, and especially if you only have a base of 3 miles or so built up so far.
Good luck, and take it slow...
If you are running in the north of the USA, wear lots of layers. I went out today in 18 degree weather, and wore 3 t shirts and 2 sweat shirts. I had a ski mask on my head.
You'll warm up after a couple miles, but the first one will be COLD!
How long will it take to drop from 1:10 to 1:00 in the 400?
Get Plenty of rest, stretch and bring water and eat alot of carbs for energySo if the soles of your shoes indicate wear/tear on the outside corner or your heel...?
just keep a nice slow pace. trust me. I'm a coach. if tired, walk about 7-9 steps then keep on running or jog.Just remember the first mile is the hardest and don't give in. Have fun!
Make sure you stretch for at least 10 to 15 minutes beforehand.M Drink plenty of fluid(Isotonic still drinks if you can get hold of them,or if not, water will do). In the cold weather we've been having, wear a wooly hat. ... The important thing is to maintain body heat,up to 30% of which, is lost during physical exercise in cold weather. . Good Luck!
Keep hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids during the day, but not too much so you don't go to the toliet too much.
Also, when you warm up, don't do it for too long, 5 mins should be enough. The longer the warm up (doing stretches) the more prone you become to injuries.
