Anyone know if there is a Running Shoe Store in Reno, Nevada?

Your training will all depend on if you are planning on being a distance runner or sprinter. If you are planning on running the 800 meters, mile, or two mile, you need to work on your endurance. For the first two weeks of training you are going to be tired and frustrated but you need to just keep your head up and keep working hard at it because after about 2 weeks you will definitely feel better. It usually takes 2 weeks for your training to kick in and take an affect. Start with 20minute-20 minute long runs..they don't have to be fast just make sure to be constantly running. The second week try doing some pick up's during your long runs like every 3 minutes pick it up for 30 seconds. This will get your body use to turning over and using more speed. Hope this helps!

I want to run faster but how?

You will get better at breathing with training, you will be breathing hard but you will be going faster.

Sharp pain in ribcage, under left breast.?

uhmm. well if you run about 1/4 of the way the first week. then 1/2 the track the next week. and then so on;<--that should all be walking. then do the same thing the next 4 weeks with joging then quicken the pace as you go and then finally you should be able to run with out it being a rassle.

Are they good?

you need to run more and build your distance up gradually

Are my times where they should be??

First of all, I think it's great that you're going out for high school track. The running around the track will only get easier for you the more you do it and build up your wind. One nice thing about high school track is that there are so many events. Your strength may be in running or it might be in one of the field events. Try them all and see which ones you have a natural ability for. The way to get better is to practice! Good Luck!!

How can i improve my mile time... and not knock over the high jump bar.?

I am a Track Sprinter and Jumper in high school and I can tell you there is one definate way to increase heart rate and breathing rate.
You Run 200 meters at a 85 %-90 % Sprint.
Rest for 5 minutues.
Run another 200 meters at same percents sprint.
Rest for 4 Minutues.
Repeat.
Rest for 3 minutues.
Repeat.
Rest for 2 Minutues.
Repeat.
Rest for 1 minutue and 30 seconds.
Run one last one.
And now when your done if you feel extremely dizzy.
You did it right. This is how they train our 600 meter runners and our 1000 meter runners.
Im 100 % sure this will work. And its not a long work out.
But be cautioned. You should have some control over yourself. If you feel you cant go on after your 2 minutue break stop but only if you feel you will colapse on it.

I need a site that maps out my route and then tells the distance?

Long Jump?

dont push your running level. just increase your speed as time goes on. dont rush it or you end up passing out. trust me i know from experience.
