What inspires you the most about running?
Eat three large meals a day. Three times a week, jog for a mile. then for the next week, increase the distance to 2 miles, then 3, etc. Also make sure to drink 8 cups of water a day. Just not all at once.MASTER your warm ups..lots of stretches.
What's ur favorite energy drink?
well, 20 miles is not a marathon, a marathon is 26.2 miles... but anyways, go to runnersworld.com and use the personal trainer tool to get a training plan for a marathon (i don't think they have any for 20 mile races)... just try to get a good running base goingas for the weight gain... one word, pasta!! carbs are great for gaining weight in a healthy way, and they taste just so good!
Help!! quick please help me now!?
I second what the person above said... definitely go to runnersworld.com. There you can get tips for training & can subscribe to their magazine, Runner's World. I'm subscribed to them and pretty much every issue has insider tips on training, with a focus on Marathons. I believe there is a 10% rule about increasing your mileage--that is, to get your mileage up (if it isn't already), you should only increase it by about 10% each week. This means not going out for, say, 10 miles for your very first run.As for gaining weight... to keep the weight you're at now while burning all those calories definitely means eating more. I agree with the person above... pasta/carbs in general are tasty, and a good way to gain weight. But once again, Runner'sWorld will definitely have nutrition advice on their website as well. :)
I use Runners Worlds training programs all the time they are good and you can train for a Marathon up to the 16-18 mile mark and then have the 20 miler be race day. you just have to adjust the schedule a little or just shorten the amount of weeks to train for it.
What type of clothing do you wear for running?
Build up your endurance with aerobic exercises every day. As far as weight, don't worry about that, what you'll lose in fat you'll gain in toned muscle. And what the other persons above said sounds like very good advice. I would take it. But double check with a trainer first to be sure you don't damage your body.Proper Breathing When Running?
Some good answers so far, but you will find it is hard to gain lean body weight while training for a long distance run. It is relatively easy to gain weight in the form of fat even while training (just eat a pint of ice cream after every training run), but I doubt you want that.During training your body will be devoting its energies to rebuilding and restoring itself from your running with little energy left for adding lean muscle mass. If you want to embark on building lean muscle mass by lifting you may find little energy for your long runs.
I would suggest you work on burning off body fat while training for your long run with high rep/light weight resistance training on your off days. Once you finish your run, take a break from the long running and just run easy. This will be the time to focus on building muscle with higher intensity resistance training.
Good luck.
get off the computer and run
Do lemons and salt really help?
Hello,If you want to run 20 miles to prepare for a marathon, gradually build up to it. Mark the calendar when the marathon race is. Three weeks before this should be your long run (20 miles). Two weeks before that run 18 miles...two weeks before that run 16 miles...and so on. You need time to introduce the long run to your body, let yourself heal / rebuild, then push for limit again. it really works. I've been using that training method for years. Check out the links below for a training plan and race day tips. Good luck!
