Running track! please help!!?


well i'm doing the 4X100 and possibly the 4X200. does anybody have any pointers or tips on how to improve my running speed? right now i have about 15.06 on my 100m. i also think i'll try to do the long jump or the triple jump. anybody have any tips on those please tell.

What Kind of Shoes Should I Buy for Cross Country?

Great to see that you are interested in track and Field.
Pointers on the 4 x 2:
1. Go all out.
2. Do not screw up the stick pass (It is vital for your time)
3. If you are the last runner and in last place that doesnt mean you slow down.
4. Same goes if your in first place by half a lap.
5.Youve got 3 other people in your race team do it for the whole relay team and for yourself.

Long Jump (I love this) I Hold Frosh Record in my school (18'7)
1. Run HARD!
2. Look UP!
3. Know your MARK (Board)!
4. Dont jump out, your velocity will carry you.
5. JUMP UP! WITH YOUR HEAD UP!
And this where everyone gets it wrong.
6. When landing throw your feet out infront of you. Do Not LAND ON THEM! You will get a good extra foot or two if you throw your feet in FRONT of yourself.

Triple Jump (NYC CHSAA Indoor Frosh Champion)
a.K.a "Hop-Skip-Jump"
1. Run HARD!
2. Slowly progress your body to start looking up.
3. When at the baord your head should be up.
4. Throw YOUR HIPS OUT on the first jump and make it real high.
The part Where EVERYONE screws it up (Ive done this and still do)
5. On Your Jump fromt Right to left (Vice-Versa) make it a wide transition. Stretch your left/right leg Forward and land hard. Make your "Skip" just as good as you "Hop" and dont forget the Hips. You want to throw your whole body.
6. Now its just a long jump.
7. Do the same thing as for long jump. Throw your body mor eup than forward. Hips Forward. Arms rolling forward and once again. LEGS INFRONT OF YOU!

Well first of all, that's trying some pretty harsh stuff on your body. second, Get your thigh sore, really sore, cuz that the fstest way your muscles will grow and help in oyur speed. I'm in the soccer and running team and does two combined is heaven. But also, don't focus on your calves at all. Those are the least you have to focus on, cuz unless you have a tremendous speed, your thighs aren't ready for such task. so run about 10k a week, run ablock's side with a 5 second rest, and half squads with 2 8 puonders if you want to make it on top (i always make my exersices to win i don't know about you).

Well. Feeling a bit like Simon Cowell on American Idol, but, if you are only running 15.06 on the 100, I think that you should reconsider your goals. You aren't going to do well at that pace. You don't mention your personal bests for the long or triple jump, but I hope they are better than your sprint.
If you want to improve your times, then run, run, run, and ask again in next year.

wow! that is soo weird i do the 4*1 and the 4*4 and triple/ long jump
1 alrite here are som hinters...long strides, swing your arms with open fist.
for the triple jump just practice jumping as far as you can with your right foot only.
and long jump try look at somthing across from the long jump and jump as if your shooting for it so you can jump farhter
