I have to run the mile outside tommrow at school and...??
What the heck, are you kidding me? I'm one of the fastest freshmen at my school and I can only run a 5:45. With that kind of a time you can get on the varsity. In Cross Country, how do you stop from getting blisters on your feet?
That is a very good time. I would expect to place in the top 3 at almost all track meets. If you want to win you will probably need to run about a 4:20 (at state I mean). This, of course, depends on the state.r u serious kid your on your way to be one of the best highschool athletes in the nation by your junior or senior year. If of course you train hard and keep dedicated.
Doing track for first time this spring and im really slow, one month left, any tips?
thast good..but all of these people are saying that your amazing i cant agree with them, in the last 2 years at my school weve had over 7 or 8 freshman run under 445 keep it up though and you will be very goodHow good is this GPS on the Garmin ForeRunner 205?
That is awesome! Keep working hard and you will get a college scholarship when you are done with high school!Quad injury.. 2nd day of track.. help/advice please...?
A 4:50 mile is good for a freshmen. You won't qualify for states but you should do well in all other races. My friend ran a 4:50 mile and didn't qualify for the states and he is the fastest freshmen runner in our school and we are D14:50 is a fantastic pace for a Freshman but there are warnings to follow. Be sure you pace your training to not burn out before your Senior year. I faced many Freshman that ran in the 4:40 to 4:50 pace and they all burned out by their Junior year by not training properly and were still running at their respective pace or slower. Compared to where I started at 5:10 and ended up at 4:30 as a Senior.
dont you know its a good time??
are you trying to showboat?? cant blame ya if i could run that i would do the same
I wish I could run that fast
YOU BEAST!
our team has seniors who cant run that fast!!
keep it up!
if your a guy i dk if your a girl ya thats way good
Dude that is insane. The record at my school for the freshman mile is 4:34 and we won over fourty state titles..small state.. You are one of the best freshman milers in the country if you can do that.
Blister prevention, my arches?
That's awesome! You'll really see your times drop fast in your freshman and sophmore years (mainly your freshman year)Your junior and senior years it may be tougher to drop your times (the lower you go the harder it is to shave off 5 or 6 seconds), so since you are still in your freshman year, you could go low 4:40's by the end of spring
don't forget your only a freshman though, so keep your mind open to other distances. I was pretty good at the 800 (2:09) and 1600 (4:53) my freshman year, but thankfully I opened myself up to racing the 3200 and XC as well. It turned out XC was more for me.
It may sound like your a miler but I also thought I was an 800 runner, and I was wrong. Make sure you use your fresh/soph years as a chance to try each distance out!
good luck and keep at it
