Risks of running too soon after pregnancy?
well what events do you run? i run track and xc and do a lot reading on running...running outside when its cold isnt all that bad...load up on layers with at lest a thermal layer and a layer to break the wind..if you cant get outside..use a tredmill...vary the incline and speed...do a kind of 3min hard..3 easy...2 hard..2 easy workout..or swim...studies show swimming is one of the best cross training methods doue to low impact...water running is also good. lifting is essetial but dont go for strength...go for power and endurance...lift low weight high rep...runners world has good ideas on their website..check that out or you can email me if you need any helpTredmill workouts?? any ideas?
I am in track too. High school track. And my advice is that try to work out in your weight lifting room if you have one. either that or stay after school and run up and down the halls. But the weights are better. This may sound goofy but it works well..
If you are a sprinter or a jumper
Practice in heavy work boots, when it comes time for a track meet, your running and jumping will feel really easy
I think everyone should be forced to go to the gym, do you?
I always put on some music when i ecsersiseI set little goals evey time i run for example you can start at one part of the street to the end and then the next day a little furthere down the street. ect. you see what im sayin anways i hope this was a help to you.
Affects of Cross-training on distance running?
Do you think you are out of shape because you gained three lbs? I gain three lbs everyday but I also lose about five lbs during wrestling practice. If you want to be in good shape for track just run a couple of miles every day. Do some crunches and pushups every night and just don't sit around eating junk foods all the time. If you eat some chips and stuff at lunch or w/e that won't affect you at all.
alot of people who just stsrt out the season aren't in shape...that's what practice is for! but don't get me wrong, you should at least run 2 or 3 miles a day before your season starts because you want to be ready and look like a decent runner the first few practices. Just take it at your own pace and try to increase your running distance slowly so that you can keep up with your goals and not get discouraged becuase preseason is always harsh. (gaining 3 lbs doesn't mean your out of shape either...)
What is the order of events for a high school track meet?
I am in track, i am a high jumper. What i do to get in shape for track is just put some nice easy miles under me before. Just three a day at a nice pace should do it. And when track actually starts then i put the smack down on my legs. And get into the wieght room, but don't over do it.More Questions & Answers...
