Ok this question is for 8th graders that was a 7th grader on last year track team?
You should buy a book with marathon training schedules in it. If you get it wrong, you'll be doing a lot of walking in the marathon (guess how I know that).Increasing your "Sunday Run" (as in once a week distance runs) a mile or two every week up to ten miles, then up a couple miles until you get to twenty will prepare you to run all the way and finish. If you have a time goal in mind, you'll want a schedule. The book I used was written by Jeff Galloway and I am sure it helped me run better and avoid injuries.
I have run ten marathons and I believe that 20 miles feels like half way. It's a unique experience and I hope you make it!
Whats the best way to train for a 2 mile?
Heres what i would do. I would run 3 miles every other day but every week make it one more mile. So you would run 3 miles on mon, wed, fri, and sat. Then the next week run 1 mile so you would run 4 miles on those for days. And soon enough you will be up to however many miles you want to do in a weekOne tip.
If you are planning to run in the morning. Try having lot of rice the previous night, it really gives lot of energy to run a marathon.
Daily increase the distance little by little, till you finally achieve your target. Don't try to do it one day.
How long would it take a beginner who went to Kenya to compete in the steep case be lapped?
you should gradually increase your mileage from your starting point (12 miles a week) up 5 miles each week. Every week run a total of 5 miles more than the previous week until you get to about 50 miles. From there you can probaly mantain that amount of training and you'll be okay. You definetly do not want to run 20 miles a day, but each week you should consider doing one long run, maybe 15 miles or so.Dose Anyone know what type of spikes Jeremy Wariner runs with?
You'll want to increase your miles gradually until your long run is 20 miles or over. If your longest run is 3 miles go out this weekend and try 4...nice comfortable pace. Next weekend go out and do 5 miles...and so on. When you get to 13 miles...start doing a long run every OTHER weekend. Your body will need more rest in between the longer runs as the mileage goes up. On the weekends in between do 1/2 the mileage at a brisker pace (for example if you ran 13 miles, the next weekend run 6-7 miles at a quicker pace). Your longest run should be three weeks before the marathon. Try the links below for a training plan and some tips...best of luck!!More Questions & Answers...
