How hard is it to hold a 5k to raise money?
I want to raise money to send running shoes to kids in third world countries so they can have a chance to love running the way I do

Will I lose my running fitness after 1 week?
I think that your cause is a noble one. In fact, there are already a number of organizations that already do that. I train for marathons so I go through running shoes fairly quickly. When they can get worn out by my standards, they are useless to me. However, there are plenty of other people who can still benefit from them, and I am sure they would consider them practically new. A lot of my running buddies feel the same way, so many of us donate our shoes to charities that send our shoes to third world countries. As for organizing a 5K, like the other answerer stated, there are a lot of issues to work out, especially if you expect there to be high participation. The best way to know all the ins and outs is to volunteer for a few local 5K races. For any race, it is always best to have a well-organized one where the runners enjoy their experience. That way, they will keep coming year after year.
Good luck~!
When run or jogging do gain muscles and if so does mean weighting more?
It is a lot of work, from mapping an accurate course, obtaining sponsors, get an ok to run the course, do you need police to stop traffic, designing a shirt, finding a decent price per shirt. Then there's getting volunteers to staff the start and finish lines, course turns and water stops. Getting sponsors for post race refreshments, making sure you have accurate timing, awards and how many. You may need a permit. Getting the word out is key, applications. Pretty hard I'd say.More Questions & Answers...
