Does jumping higher makes you run faster?
Most states have a website that will either have last year's state meet results or the times required to qualify for the state meet.i.e., if you run in IL, according to www.ihsa.org, you have to run a 9:35 2 mile or a 4:24.5 one mile to automatically qualify for the state meet in the large school division. Most people would say qualifying for state is good.
Check your state's website for similar information.
Or, perhaps even simpler, ask your coach. He'll know the talent level of the area a lot better then anyone here, who doesn't even know where you are.
i go to one of the best distance running schools in the nation, and a good time for a two mile here is around 10 minutes or so.

I have been a coach for 18 years. For the guys, a 9 minute two mile is extremely good. The runners that are in the top three are often in the 10 minute rangeHow do i improve my Stamina for running in a marathon?
When I was 16/17, I ran a mile in 4:38, and 2 miles in 9:49. They were both on the road, though. Needless to say, had I raced over those distances on the track at that time, I'd have destroyed those times.Unless Hicham El Gerrouj comes on sports1234.com , my guess is we're all a long way off. The mens WR for the Mile is held by Hicham el Gerrouj at 3:43.13, and the women's 1 mile WR is 4:12.56, it was run by Svetlana Masterkova.
Over the 2 miles distance, Daniel Komen is the mens World Record holder with 7:58 (he ran splits of 3:59 and 3:59). I can't find the Women's 2 mile World record, although I suspect it will probably be around 8:35-8:40
What are your favourite music tracks to run to?
it honestly depends on your skill level and how long you have been running. If you have bee running for a long timer to should hope to be under 11 closer to 10, if you are new at runner anywhere from 13-14 would be a good starting time to work with.James
10 minutes or so
I think a good time for two miles is any where from 12 to 14
Anything less is great and sub 11 is outstanding
I got 11:55 but that is after running for three months
I'm a freshman in high school.
I am a high school soph, and i run about a 25 to 24.8 200 meter dash how can i improve that time.?
I run track myself. If you want to know the exact best times for the meets you will be running in you can find that out. If you have a good coach he/she should have some information about your competitors. This way you would know what the exact times are. Your coach should be able to give you the top three or so, maybe he/she will have records from last year's meets. You could also ask some people that were on the track team last year, they would know the times. But like everyone has been saying a good 2 mile time will be in the 10-11 minute range.
Good luck with your running!

if by 2mile you mean 3200m (about 5 seconds quicker than the 2mile) you will have to be running under10:05 to be competitive. If its your first year, that will be unrealistic (unless your very talented naturally)
for a mile, to be competitive you would have to run in the 4:37-4:47 range at least.
