Do some people go running just to be seen running?
pole vault...you need speed, strength and coordinationIn my opinion the high jump is really hard. It is hard, and when you hit the bat it kills. Also pole-voulting is hard. But we all get better with practice.
Hope this helps :)
Im very good at sprinting but i cant run distance for the life of me, why is this?
That depends entirely on what your talents are.The most competitive and difficult at the high school level is generally regarded to be the 400m and 800m.

If west Africa vs east Africa in running who would win the following?
IMO the 800 meters is the hardest. It's the race that skirts the boundaries of sprints and middle-distances. There is not much room for strategy but it's a full two laps. You got to have both speed for the second lap to the finish and a solid endurance base to last the entire race. The second hardest has to be the 10K, you have to be focused and concentrated for a a half hour or faster depending how good you are.
Is a 12:08 good for a in-shape frosh in his second time meet?
when it comes to pain i'd say the 800 m. a good 800 leaves the body exhausted and out of energy, moreso than any other distance.when it comes to skill i'd say the pole vault. it requires explosive speed, upper body stregnth, flexibility, and flawless technique. the amount of practice it takes to master it is rediculous, but it is relatively painless.
I can't help but hate running?
The hardest running event is the 400 by far. It's an all out sprint and you are really hurting when you are done. The hardest field event has to be the pole vault. It takes a lot of training, speed, strength, and agility to even attempt this event.
Looking for a good trail running shoe that comes in a 4E width?
I'm going with high jump. Not only is it very physically demanding, you need to have a very clean technique and a lot of explosive power, speed, and strength. But the biggest thing is the mental aspect--landing on the bar does really hurt, and getting up and trying to clear a height again--and again--is extremely nervewrecking. Try having to clear a height on your last attempt at a major meet, after railing the bar off the previous two times. And if you are a guy, try jumping at something more than a foot over your own height and hoping that you can clear it off the explosive power in your legs alone. I've seen my boyfriend do this, and it's wild.
Of course, it still is one of my favorite events!!
I'm a distance runner (3200/1600) and i would have to agree that although some people find distance running the most exhausting, the middle distance races 400/800 are the most difficult. They are long enough for you to actually feel the pain and push through it unlike the 100/200 and the slightest big of extra effort makes a bigger difference in these races than distance
Running. Nike Air Max 360 or Nike Free 5.0 v2?

Is it possible to train for the half-marathon in 11 weeks?
everyone who takes middle-long distance event would likely hate the 400m. Now... I think most, if not all sprinters don't like 400m event. Distance runner might feel like puking when running this... Sprinters might likely avoid this event because it is sore and sour. They might need a G-suit to stabilise blood flow...(hehehe) I was just joking about the G-suit. The lesser version of the 400m Sprint is the 800m Run. milers might feel light headed... Sprinters might destroy themselves just to keep up with... let say Kenyans? Moroccans? Hmmm...Everything that is in the middle is likely more difficult than taking sides... It's like life man...
