Should I be in track?
I'm trying to decide whether or not to be in track this year. I've never been in it before so I'm not sure if I'll like it. I don't want to quit in the middle of the season, but I don't want to join if I'm going to hate it. What do you think I should do?

How Many Times Should I Run A Week To Get Ready For Track?
Try it, you will meet so many new people and everyone is so supportive of you. It is just so much fun no matter how good you arePedometer troubles? how much is 0.081 miles? or 0.132Km?
Do you run on a regular basis already? They have pretty intense practices during the week. Would it be something you would enjoy? I say go for it. If all else fails, you at least gave it a shot and can do something different next year. What kind of shoes to wear with orthotics?
I think you should join. Its a lot of fun but you have to be willing to work hard and take time out of your schedule for meets and practices. You wont hate it if you like running or whatever event your doing.
I would ask other girls from track at your school and what they think.
Track is a great sport...there's something for everyone. If you like to sprint, try the 100m, 200m or 400m. Do you have a lot of stamina?...try the 800m, mile or 2-mile. There's also long jump, shot-put, hurdles, etc... Track's a good sport to find something that you enjoy, make new friends, and even get in shape for another sport. I'd give it a try. Here's a schedule (below) to help you start running, if interested. Good luck!
I think you should!! I'm a senior now, but when i was a Sophmore, I tried it and didn't like it. but after a while I missed it. i didn't like it because I was lazy. But now I'm back in it and enjoy it very much! it boost your confidence(well at least mine) The end result is satisfying. Depending on what grade your in, if your skeptical you could do summer track or indoor and see how you like it. That way you'll know how it feels and you won't be less experienced. but regardless of how experienced you are..It's a good sport, and I encourage you to AT LEAST try. Talk to your coaches..some track people and ask then how they like it. What all they do ..how they train.
Good luck to you!
Does the Nike + / IPOD track your mileage correctly?
Track is intense, but it's really rewarding. you get in great shape and make tons of new friends! added bonus: guys run with their shirts off when they're all sweaty :)Follow your heart. Run a lot and really fast everyday just to give you an idea of what it might be like. Think of some other things you may be interested in to have a back up plan just in case track does not work out. Personally, I love track the adrenaline rush is phenomenal and the feeling you get when you pass that other person is great, but just ignore what your head may be saying and follow your heart. If you open your mind you'll be surprised at the wonderful things you can think of and decisions you can make.
